What inspired you to become a Pilates instructor?

My children! I’ve always enjoyed Pilates but knew I had to take it further after I felt the difference Pilates makes to your body after experiencing such drastic changes during pregnancy. Reformer Pilates is such a functional, unique, effective and safe form of exercise that I easily became addicted to learning everything I could about the Reformer so I could share the experience with others. Being a pilates instructor is a very healthy, motivational and rewarding profession that I am lucky enough to share with my community and family.

What inspired you to become a Pilates instructor?

Coming from a dance background, I have always had a strong interest in how the body moves, strength and conditioning and, injury prevention and rehabilitation. This resulted in me studying various training methods including matwork pilates and children’s yoga. I was very keen to try reformer pilates and after my first class, I was hooked!

What inspired you to become a Pilates instructor?

I was getting bored and felt stagnant with ‘normal’ gyms and workouts, decided to give pilates a go and fell in love. Having a dancing background it was almost like being back in the dance studio again. I then decided what an amazing and rewarding job becoming a pilates instructor would be to give people the same incredible burn I have been feeling!

Take a deep breath and enjoy! It’s the most amazing feeling being able to watch your body move and muscles tone in places you’ve never been able to achieve before. You can do it!

What inspired you to become a Pilates instructor?

I love how Pilates makes me feel & the differences I’ve noticed in my body since getting started a few years ago (better posture, flexibility, strength & endurance). I’m always looking for ways to fit more Pilates into my life, so teaching seemed like a natural progression. I think everyone could benefit from incorporating reformer workouts into their routine & I’m really excited to share my passion with others!

Advice / Motivation for someone about to start Pilates?

Remember to breathe! Pilates is for every body & all movements can be modified to suit your fitness level / specific goals. Find an environment where you feel supported, challenged & that makes moving your body feel good – this might be in a group with friends, or privately with an instructor who is entirely dedicated to you.
